General Comment I don't think this has to do with an affair at all I think this song is really for her parents and for anyone going through a struggle because society is putting a strain on their relationship If you seen the music video you know that the situation was an interracial couple trying to be together, which parallels to her parents situation, and was probably an unthinkable decision considering the time period they would have gotten together.
